Mobile Mark Introduces New MIMO Surface Mount Antennas That Support All Global LTE Frequencies Wifi And GPS

New MIMO Surface Mount Antenna for Global LTE

Schiller Park, IL, November 8, 2013 – Mobile Mark, Inc. announced the introduction of a new line of multi-band MIMO surface mount antennas (multiple-input-multiple-output) for wireless fleet management systems that support LTE, WiFi and GPS. These newly released antennas stand out because they are broadbanded enough to cover all LTE frequencies worldwide from 700 MHz to 3700 MHz.

“The LTM series antennas provide optimal performance for the latest wireless fleet management systems, whether they feature LTE MIMO modems, WiFi MIMO modems, or both. The LTM is ready to accommodate them all — while also supporting GPS — in one compact radome that lowers installation costs,” said Michael Berry, Mobile Mark president. “For any application that requires real-time video uplinks and downlink from vehicles — from emergency response to commercial transport — our LTM antennas are incredibly robust and dependable. In addition, we can customize the antennas with longer cable runs or specialized connectors to meet the unique needs of any implementation.”

The LTM series was designed for wireless applications that combine an LTE MIMO modem with a WiFi MIMO modem and a GPS receiver. This combination requires five separate antenna elements: two for LTE, two for WiFi, and one for GPS. Until now, many wireless systems integrators using this combination had to install multiple antennas. But the LTM series combines up to five high-efficiency antennas in one compact, surface-mount radome. Measuring 140mm (5.5 inches) in diameter with a low profile of 61 mm (2.4 inches), the LTM series antennas take up significantly less space than multiple antennas and cut down on installation time and costs by offering a single mounting hole.

The LTM Series is available in several different configurations. The LTM502 is the most comprehensive model and includes 5 separate antennas: two for LTE, two for WiFi and one for GPS. This 5-cable model can support MIMO (multiple-input-multiple-output) signals for both LTE and WiFi. The LTE elements cover all Cellular and LTE systems worldwide from 694 MHz – 3700 MHz and the WiFi elements cover both 2.4 & 5 GHz.

For wireless systems with different requirements, three other models are available. The LTM402 antenna contains 4 separate antennas: two for MIMO LTE, one for WiFi and one for GPS. The LTM403 also contains 4 separate antennas but with a different combination: one for LTE, two for MIMO WiFi and one for GPS. The 3-cable LTM302 contains two LTE antennas (for MIMO coverage at any LTE frequency worldwide) and one GPS antenna.

Cables and frequencies for the models are listed below:

All antennas feature 15-foot cables to accommodate larger transport vehicles, but customized lengths are available.

Mobile Mark’s new LTM MIMO antennas are sealed with a thick gasket and have a water ingress rating of IP67 when properly mounted. Each unit’s radome is made from a heavy duty UV-stable ASA plastic. The antenna’s rugged construction prevents damage from vandalism or accidental impacts. Offering outstanding technical performance, the RoHS-compliant LTM series is tested to industry and military specifications.

Mobile Mark will highlight the new antenna series, including MIMO surface mount antennas, at the upcoming MILCOM event in San Diego, CA, November 18-20, 2013.
