WiFi Antenna For Mobile Security, Body Worn Surveillance Cameras
Itasca, IL – March 30, 2016 – For mobile security, Mobile Mark’s SMD-W is a MIMO WiFi Surface Mount Antenna that can provide a communication link between a mobile hotspot on the law enforcement vehicle and body worn surveillance cameras used by police officers.
Video and data captured by the body worn camera is transferred to the vehicle’s hotspot and off-loaded when the vehicle returns to the station, or transmitted in real-time via a Cellular/LTE antenna.
The SMD-W can be ordered with two or three cable feeds, all covering identical WiFi frequencies. These multiple connections operate on the 2.4-2.5 GHz & 4.9-6.0 GHz bands, all with a peak gain of 4 dBi. MIMO (Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output) is also sometimes referred to as spatial multiplexing, which provides the ability to transmit different data on different antenna elements. The result is greater data throughput and improved bandwidth.
The SMD-W is designed to withstand damage in harsh environments. It is certified for the IPx7 water ingress rating, and has also passed industry and military shock and vibration standards. This low profile surface mount antenna is housed in a rugged, UV resistant, ASA radome that measures 1.5-inches (38mm) tall x 3.5-inches (89mm) in diameter. The SMD-W can be ordered in white or black.
