Global Cellular Multiband Antenna An Ideal Match For Public Transit

Itasca, IL – October 30, 2016 – Improvements to public transit fleet wireless systems are happening all over the world, meaning that antennas designed for combined WiFi, GPS, and most notably Cellular capability need to be made with global frequency differences in mind. Many cellular carriers in the US are using specific bands in the frequency range of 700 to 1900 MHz, however completely different bands and frequencies ranging from 800 to 2500 MHz are used for cellular in Europe and Asia.

What this means for public transit authorities around the world is that the right vehicle antenna should be chosen to cover all of these frequencies providing wireless services to fleet management and passengers. The LTM402 from Mobile Mark was designed specifically to cover Cellular frequencies worldwide in addition to providing capability for WiFi and GPS.

This combination antenna uses the easily recognizable Mobile Mark LTM radome design, made out of ASA UV-stable plastic. This radome is weather resistant and passes the IP67 rating for water ingress. In addition this durable design provides ample protection against physical damage. The LTM402 meets several different industrial and military specifications for shock and vibration resistance.

The first two elements on the LTM402 are designated for Global LTE frequencies at 694-960 MHz and 1710-3700 MHz with 3-5 dBi. The third element is used for WiFi frequencies in the range of 2.4-2.5 GHz and 4.9-6.0 GHz with 5 dBi gain. The last element is reserved for GPS at 1575 MHz with 5 dBi gain. All cables come standard with SMA plugs, however customers can order custom cable and connector options as well.

The LTM402 has an attached ¾” (19 mm) long thread that is designed to be drill mounted with cable feed through on surfaces up to ½” (12 mm) thick. There is also a magnet mounted option with the designation “MLTM402” for a less permanent installation that does not require drilling.

When considering antenna options with Global Cellular capability in mind, public transit authorities can rely on designs like Mobile Mark’s LTM402 to provide multiple wireless services.
