Manufacturing Technician

The Manufacturing Technician operates, maintains, and troubleshoots production equipment to ensure efficient and high-quality output in a manufacturing environment. They are involved in various aspects of the production process, from operating machinery to performing quality checks, and often collaborate with engineers to improve processes through fixturing and automation. The Manufacturing Technician will be involved in writing work instructions for both existing and new products. This position reports directly to the Production Manager.


Specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
• Assist in Developing and improving manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment through Lean Manufacturing practices
• Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning labor standards, workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
• Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
• Provides support for production control, safety, quality control and training
• Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products
• Perform Production Failure Mode Analysis
• Responsible for Inventory Reduction Program through collaboration with Engineering, Sales, Operations and Production Teams to identify and implement cost effective disposal strategies
• Technical Writing and documenting work instructions
• Address and participation in Corrective/Preventive Action process
• Special projects and other tasks as assigned

Specific Job Requirements
• Proficient knowledge of manufacturing practices
• Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Problem solving and leadership skills
• Good organizational skills & follow-through; Self-starter
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Experience with ISO9001 or other quality systems
• Strong MS office skills


Education & Experience
• Associates or similar degrees in related Engineering or Technical discipline preferred
• 1 to 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; Recent graduates will be considered.
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks, CAD/CAM software a plus
• CNC programming and machine shop experience a plus
• Experience with VSWR testing with communication antennas is a plus
• Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma, Etc. Training, a plus

Estimated Total Compensation: $50,000 to $60,320 per annum based upon experience
