Schiller Park, IL, April 27, 2009 -- Mobile Mark’s RFID Panel Antenna (PN7 Series) is designed to operate in close proximity to metal, which normally has a tendency to detune antennas. The antenna can even be mounted directly against metal as would be the case for antennas installed on the load backrest of a forklift assembly.
Although this antenna is frequently referred to as a “forklift” antenna, it can be used for any mid-distance installation. The low profile and rugged exterior makes it a natural addition in many industrial or rugged setting.
The PN7 Series antenna provides 7 dBi gain. It is either left-hand or right-hand circularly polarized and must be paired with another similarly circularly polarized antenna to optimize the point-to-point link. Circular polarity helps the antenna overcome many polarization issues such as non-alignment or cross-alignment, and minimizes reflected signals from unwanted surfaces.
This durable, low profile antenna measures only 6.75”H x 6.75”W x 2”D. It is available in 2 styles: a direct N connector version, as well as a coaxial “pigtail” version. Jumper cables can be supplied for either version to accommodate a variety of installations. An optional mount kit (clamp mounting adapter) is available to adapt the antenna for metal setting such as forklifts, shelving, gates or racks.
Installation note: Some models of RFID readers have an “antenna present” sensing circuit, which can detect a 10K ohm resistance. The PN7 Series now offers this as a standard feature.
